§ Mr. Ian HarveyHer Majesty's Government recognise that the question of Chinese representation in the United Nations is one which will have to be taken into account in any long-term settlement in the Far East and that it will in due course have to be considered by the General Assembly. For the time being, however, their view remains that to press the issue in face of the present deep divisions of opinion in the United Natons would do more harm than good.
