asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many prosecutions have been brought by procurators fiscal under the Litter Act, 1958, since it came into force on 7th August; and whether these were in towns or in rural areas.

Sixty persons were prosecuted in Scotland for offences against the Litter Act, 1958, between the date of the coming into force of the Act and 30th September. All prosecutions were before burgh courts.
