§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe total number of African mineworkers laid off as a result of the dispute is 22,232. No compensation has been paid, but all African mineworkers laid off receive housing free and are being paid a daily subsistence allowance of 3s. 6d. if married and 2s. 6d. if single.
