§ Captain Kerbyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is aware of the irregular voting procedure at the last annual General meeting of the Tomato and Cucumber Marketing Board on 19th March, 1957; and if he will appoint an independent person to act as chairman at the next annual general meeting.
§ Mr. John HareI am aware that it has been alleged that a vote cast at the annual general meeting of the Tomato and Cucumber Marketing Board was not properly authorised. I am also aware that the Tomato and Cucumber Board say that, if this vote had not been cast, the result would have been the same. I have no power to appoint a chairman for the annual general meeting of the Board. The scheme provides that the chairman of every meeting of registered producrs shall be appointed by the Board.
