Mr. Pentlandasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that many old-age pensioners, who reside in rural areas, have to travel by omnibus to the nearest town to procure prescriptions prescribed for them by their doctor; and, in view of the expense incurred, if he will consider introducing a scheme which will enable such old-age pensioners to travel free on these missions.

§ Mr. Walker-SmithThe arrangements made under the National Health Service for dispensing are designed to avoid difficult journeys as far as possible. If the hon. Member will let me have particulars of any area where this is not being achieved, I will gladly look into the matter.
