§ Mr. BevinsMy right hon. Friend has discussed this with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Air. The present practice is that, when an airfield is to be disposed of, buildings that are unlikely to be of any future use are sold by auction for demolition and the purchaser enters into a contract that he will completely remove them to base level. Some derelict buildings may remain on sites disposed of formerly, but the arrangements now in force should ensure that airfields no longer required are left reasonably tidy.
