asked the Minister of Health if he will give in tabular form the total amount received by his Department from the City of Stoke-on-Trent since July, 1948, for the Hospital Endowment Fund, indicating the individual sources and amounts from each source, also the total amount allocated to the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board, and the total amount received since 1948 by the Stoke Hospital Management Committee.

The amounts received by my Department from hospitals within the Stoke-on-Trent City area since the 4th July, 1948, for the Hospital Endowments Fund were as follows:

In addition securities and cash amounting in total to £66,682 were received for the Hospital Endowments Fund from 26W hospitals which were outside the Stoke-on-Trent City area but which came under the control of the Stoke-on-Trent Hospital Management Committee.
The above sums formed part of the gross Hospital Endowments Fund, amounting to some £31,000,000, of which about £11,000,000 was used to defray certain liabilities transferred to the Minister under the National Health Service Act, 1946, leaving about £20,000,000 which constituted the net Hospital Endowments Fund.
The total amount earmarked to the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board as its share of the capital in the net Fund is £903,683. In addition, an amount of £65,374 is earmarked to the Stoke-on-Trent Hospital Management Committee.
The amount received since July, 1948, by the Stoke-on-Trent Hospital Management Committee as its share of the income of the net Fund is £21,155, together with a further £14,339 paid over by the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board from its share of such income.
