§ Captain Kerbyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps are being taken to investigate the foreign contacts, methods and organisation of the Porro Society in Sierra Leone, the existence of which is incompatible with the aspirations of the Colony; and if he will make a statement on the growth and influence of this Society since 1956.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThis Society is one of a number of societies functioning in accordance with traditional law and custom. It has no known foreign contacts, and I am not aware of any recent change in its position which would warrant a special investigation.
