§ Mr. Malcolm MacPhersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland to what extent he estimates that the economies achieved in England and Wales in response to Ministry of Education Circular No. 334, of 27th January, 1958, will affect expenditure on education in Scotland.
§ Mr. MaclaySuch economies as are effected by local education authorities in England and Wales will be accompanied by a reduction in grant, and the grants-in-aid of the Education (Scotland) Fund 161W will be abated by a sum equal to 11/80ths of that reduction. I am not in a position to estimate the actual sum.
