Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give a general direction to the Crofters Commission not to delay serving notices under Section 16 (4) of the Crofters (Scotland) Act, 1955, for a period longer than three months after the occurrence of the vacancy in question.
§ Lord John HopeNo. My right hon. Friend is satisfied that, where a demand exists for a vacant croft, the Commission can be relied upon to serve notice as soon as possible after the statutory period of one month has elapsed from the occurrence of the vacancy.
