§ 62. Mr. Mathewasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs, in view of the damage caused by recent gales in coastal areas, if he will now expedite steps to make coastal defence a national responsibility so that local authorities in coastal areas do not have to bear a burden disproportionate to their size and wealth in the event of grave storm damage.
