§ Mr. Lennox-BoydChristmas Island was annexed by the Crown in 1888. On 1st January, 1958, it was detached from Singapore and is now being administered as a separate dependency of the United Kingdom pending its transfer to the Commonwealth of Australia. During the interim period Singapore postage stamps will continue to be used on the island. I do not consider that a sepcial issue of postage stamps would be appropriate.
