§ Mr. Rankinasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many of the recommendations made to him by the Advisory Committee on the Protection of Birds in Scotland have been adopted; and what effect these have had in preserving and increasing the rarer species.
§ Mr. MaclayNine Statutory Instruments have been made giving effect to recommendations of the Committee, and a number of other recommendations made by the Committee, which did not necessitate formal action, have also been implemented. I cannot precisely evaluate the effect that those steps192W designed to preserve and increase the rarer species have had, but I have no doubt that they have been beneficial.
