HC Deb 09 December 1958 vol 597 c46W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in view of the fact that Summer Time operates from the first Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October, he will investigate whether it would not be advantageous to British farmers if this were changed to the first Saturday in April to the last Saturday in October.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I am informed by my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food that this suggestion is at present under consideration by the National Farmers Unions of England and Wales and of Scotland.
