§ 121. Mr. E. L. Mallalieu
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been drawn to the gap in the criminal law, as a result of which it is possible for a person to receive goods knowing them to be the property of someone other than the person from whom he received them but who possessed them under a hire- purchase agreement, and yet not be guilty of an offence under Section 33 (1) of the Larceny Act, 1916; and what steps he will take to see that the law is made effective against dishonest receivers of goods improperly parted with by those who do not own them.46W
§ Mr. R. A. Butler
The law of larceny is defective in a number of respects, and I am considering what steps should be taken to revise it.
