§ 14. Mr. F. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Health what steps he will take to place the tranquilising drug Persomnia on Schedule 4, in view of the widespread anxiety in the medical profession about its unrestricted sale to the public and the danger of addiction.
§ Mr. Walker-SmithI am informed by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department that the Poisons Board is not prepared to recommend in this sense. At the Board's suggestion, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I have, however, referred the problem to the Interdepartmental Committee on Drug Addiction.
