Mr. Headasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he is aware that in Staines road repairs are 80W being carried out in four different areas; to what extent his Department is consulted before such action is taken in a critical road bottleneck; and what hours are being worked on these repairs.
§ Mr. NugentWe were informed that these road works on A.30 were to be carried out. The arrangements for traffic during their progress have been approved by the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis. On three sites work will be completed before the summer peak traffic starts, while on Thames Bridge work will be suspended between June and September. Normal hours are being worked.
