HC Deb 23 April 1958 vol 586 c78W
75. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether it was with his approval that the British Overseas Airways Corporation suspended operations from Nicosia.

Mr. Watkinson

No. Although B.O.A.C informed me and the Cyprus authorities of its intention, the decision to suspend operations in April, 1956, was a commercial one taken by B.O.A.C. on its own responsibility. It did not require my approval.
