§ Mr. GodberOn 1st April my Department held the freehold or long leasehold interest in 186,896 acres, of which 109,188 were in England and 77,708 in Wales. These figures exclude land placed at the disposal of the Forestry Commission. These interests were acquired under various powers, of which the most important numerically are the Forestry Acts and the Agriculture Act, 1947. I am sending detailed particulars to my hon. Friend.
