HC Deb 02 April 1958 vol 585 c146W
55. Mr. Slater

asked the Secretary of of State for Foreign Affairs what recent consultations he has had with the countries controlling the oil pipelines concerned with the purpose of ensuring the free passage to the Mediterannean of oil produced by the Iraq Petroleum Company, in view of the British commercial interests involved.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

Wayleave rights for the pipelines and payments for these rights are regulated by Agreements negotiated between the Government concerned and the Iraq Petroleum Company. Her Majesty's Government have had no recent consultations about the pipelines with the Governments of the countries through which the pipelines pass.
