§ 51. Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what proposals were made at the Accra Conference of the Foundation for Mutual Assistance in Africa regarding the stabilisation of world prices of commodities produced in Africa; and what are the proposals of Her Majesty's Government in this matter.
§ Mr. Ian HarveyThe answer to the first part of the Question is "None." As I have pointed out on a number of occasions, the Acra Conference was concerned with the establishment of a Foundation for Mutual Assistance in Africa south of the Sahara, details of which were given in reply to a Question by the hon. and gallant Member for Lewes (Col. Beamish) on 10th March. The second half of the Question does not arise.
