The latest available figures showing citizenship of members of the Civil Service of Bechuanaland relate to February, 1957. There were42W then 402 European officers, of whom 196 were citizens of the Union of South Africa, and 58 were citizens both of the Union of South Africa and of the United Kingdom and Colonies.
