Mr. Patrick Maitland

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many road accidents, fatal and non-fatal, respectively, have occurred since the war on the Stirling—Carlisle road near Law Hospital.

Mr. Maclay

From 1st January, 1946, to the present date there have been four fatal and 24 non-fatal road accidents on the Stirling—Carlisle road near Law Hospital.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the fatal accident which occurred on the Stirling—Carlisle road, near Law Hospital, on 1st September, he is satisfied with the road safety measures in force there; and if he will make a statement.
