§ Mr. Sandys397 National Service men have been flown to Christmas Island during 1957 to participate in the nuclear weapons test programme, at an average cost of about £210 each. So far, only 94 have returned, and some of these have come back by sea. It is not yet certain by what method the remainder will be making the return journey.
