§ 61. Mrs. Castleasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the estimated number of Africans who are landless and unemployed in the African Reserves in Kenya.
§ Mr. ProfumoThere are now about 14,000 landless families in the Kikuyu Reserve, of whom all but a few have employment or are engaged on relief work and land resettlement schemes.
No accurate figures are available for the other African areas, but there is nothing to suggest serious unemployment there.
