§ 58. Mr. Hamiltonasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether in order to combat inflation he will issue a circular to local authorities urging them to stabilise their rents and rates.
§ Mr. H. Brooke:Local authorities have to meet their costs. If any local authorities are not yet sufficiently conscious of the need to keep down their costs, I am not convinced that the issue of a circular by me would make them so.
