Mr. Beswickasked the Secretary of State for Air how many accidents to aircraft under commercial charter for Service trooping have taken place in the past three years; what are the numbers of casualties in killed and injured; and what was the total number of persons transported in a three-year period up to the last convenient date.
Mr. Ward:There have been five accidents in which passengers were killed or injured. Passenger casualties amounted to eighty killed and six injured. During the three years ending 31st March, 1957, approximately 421,000 passengers were carried.
