60. Mr. Vaneasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will introduce a system of supplementary grants from State funds towards the payment of the salaries of agricultural advisory officers similar to the system which works satisfactorily in Denmark, in order to supplement the National Agricultural Advisory Service.
138W
§ Mr. GodberIn Denmark, agricultural advisory services are operated mainly by associations of farmers and smallholders with the aid of small State grants. In view of the extensive advisory services already provided at public expense in this country, my right hon. Friend does not consider that grants to other organisations for the same purpose would be justified.
