88. Mr. Skeflingtonasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what measures are intended to protect the public from the radiation hazards arising from the manufacturing processes of ionising radiations and radioactive substances in civilian industry.
§ Mr. H. BrookeExisting powers have so far proved effective in protecting the public from hazards arising from the discharge of radioactive waste; but, in view of the prospects of an increasing use of radioactive substances, the advisory committee appointed under the Radioactive Substances Act, 1948, has set up an expert panel to consider whether additional measures of control are likely to become necessary.
