§ 88. Commander Donaldsonasked the Postmaster-General if he is aware of the discontent at the wireless reception in the Burgh of Jedburgh; what investigations have been made; and if he has any statement to make as to possible improvement in reception either by V.H.F. or other means.
§ Mr. K. ThompsonYes. Although the Light Programme is received fairly satisfactorily, the Scottish Home Service is not strongly received and reception is to some extent spoiled by interference from a station in Spain and more recently from one in Hungary. We are doing what we can to clear this, but so far with little success. A V.H.F. station to serve this area is planned, but it is not yet possible to give any indication when it will be constructed.
