§ 6. Sir I. Fraserasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what progress has been made in the past year with the provision of water and sewerage in rural areas; and what is the programme for the current year.
§ Mr. BevinsDuring 1956 work costing £5,360,201 was authorised for rural water supply schemes in England and Wales. The corresponding figure for rural sewerage was £5,589,771. I hope that in the present year it will be possible to maintain this rate of progress.
