Mr. Watkinsasked the Minister of Health whether he will indicate the difficulties which prevent him from accepting the recommendations of the Rural Development Panel of the Council of Wales and Monmouthshire having refer- 128W ence to Llandrindod Wells, particularly when some facilities are now obtainable under the National Health Service.
§ Mr. VosperThe recommendations are that all out-patients referred for treatment should have their travelling and subsistence expenses met. I have no power to meet the latter. Travelling expenses can be met, wholly or in part, according to need; and in present circumstances I could not contemplate the additional cost of making them payable to all.
