§ 20. Mr. Fletcher-Cooke
asked the Paymaster-General whether he will give a general direction to the National Coal 125W Board to end the present discrimination by which concessionary coal is denied to miners working underground who are not householders whereas it is given to office workers who are.
§ Mr. Maudling
Concessionary coal, which is traditionally a part of the remuneration of the employees of the coal industry, is supplied in accordance with local agreements between employers and workers. Any change in these agreements must be negotiated between the parties concerned.
