§ 54. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Prime Minister whether he will consider suggesting the convening of Commonwealth conferences for the discussion of specific subjects of common interest to supplement the Commonwealth Prime Ministers' Conference which is now held annually.
§ The Prime MinisterIt is already the accepted practice within the Commonwealth to hold conferences to discuss 5W specific subjects of common interest when-eves they are thought to be necessary and desirable by member Governments. I should perhaps add that although the Meeting of Commonwealth Prime Ministers, which begins tomorrow, will be the third in tie last three years, there is no general rule that they should be held annually.
