§ 95. Mr. F. Noel-Bakerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will order an investigation into interferences with cables between London and Nicosia.
§ Mr. Profumo:No. I know of no such interference. If the hon. Member refers to a report in a Sunday newspaper, the correspondent concerned has since made it clear that the delay in receipt of a telegram from the London Office was in no way the result of interference by the Cyprus Government. The message was not received owing to the fact that the correspondent's teleprinter was disconnected at the time of its transmission by the Cable Company.
