HC Deb 03 June 1957 vol 571 cc63-4W
67. Mr. Rankin

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is now in a position to name a date on which the relaxation of the strategic controls on Great Britain's trade with China will become operative.

Mr. Ormsby-Gore:

A new consolidated version of the Soviet bloc and China lists will appear shortly in the Board of Trade Journal.

The amendment to the Export of Goods Control Order will come into operation during the course of this week. In the meantime licences for China will be granted for all items which are not under licence for the Soviet bloc.
