§ 78. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that the pay, allowances and emoluments of the health visitors for the elderly sick in Scotland are out of proportion to their educational qualifications and duties; and if he will take steps to rectify this.
§ Mr. J. S. MaclayA claim for an increase in pay for health visitors has been considered by the Nurses' and Midwives' Whitley Council. I understand that the Council having been unable to reach agreement the dispute is to be referred to the Industrial Court for arbitration. I must await the Court's finding.
