§ 126. Mr. P. Noel-Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what sum Her Majesty's Government propose to allocate in 1957 as their contribution to the funds of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreHer Majesty's Government propose, subject to Parliamentary approval, to contribute a sum not exceeding £100,000 to the United Nations Refugee Fund in 1957. As in 1956, £80,000 will be made available as an outright contribution and a further £20,000 will be paid if Governmental contributions to the Fund reach a total of $3.25 million. In 1956, Governmental contributions to the Fund exceeded this figure and the balance of the United Kingdom's 1956 contribution has therefore been paid.
