§ Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for War how many officers of the rank of brigadier and upwards there now are in the Army; and by how much that number has risen or fallen since last July.
§ Mr. HareThere are now 537 officers of the rank of brigadier or above on the active list. This is one more than the figure given by my predecessor in answer to a similar Question by the hon. Member60W on 10th July last year. There is, however, a true reduction of eleven because fourteen officers are now on leave pending retirement, whereas there were only two last July.
