HC Deb 19 February 1957 vol 565 cc37-8W
46. Mr. P. Morris

asked the Prime Minister if Her Majesty's Government now accept the recommendation of the Council of Wales to appoint a Secretary of State for Wales.

The Prime Minister

The Government intend to study carefully the recommendations made by the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire and are taking into account the opinions expressed during the debate on Welsh affairs last week. I am not yet ready to announce any conclusions.
