asked the Secretary of State for Air whether the meteorological service is now recording sunshine intensity in this country; and what records are now being kept of rainfall duration in addition to quantity.

The intensity of sunshine at the earth's surface is recorded by the Meteorological Office at six stations. Records of the duration of rainfall, in addition to its quantity, arc received from two hundred and fifty-five stations.
