HC Deb 19 February 1957 vol 565 cc58-9W
Mr. Pryde

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will institute a full scale inquiry into the loss of two soldiers of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, and the serious wounding of six others in the Aden Protectorate on Sunday, 3rd February; and what steps are to be taken to punish those responsible.

Mr. Hare

I have called for a full report on this incident but, on the facts available, I see no reason for an inquiry. The Government of Aden have already taken steps to punish the tribesmen responsible. I should like to express my deep sympathy with the relatives of the soldiers who were killed or wounded in this regrettable incident.
