HC Deb 19 February 1957 vol 565 cc42-3W
71. Mr. E. Fletcher

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he has yet received a petition addressed to him and signed by 174 tenants on the Mayville Estate, Islington, complaining of the dampness in the flats on this estate; and what steps he has taken in the matter.

Mr. H. Brooke

Yes. This is wholly a matter for the London County Council, who own these flats; but inquiries have been made of them and I understand that successful remedial measures have already been taken in respect of most of the flats and that, given co-operation on the part of the tenants concerned, treatment of the remaining few should be completed at an early date.
