HC Deb 12 February 1957 vol 564 c152W
31. Mr. Elwyn Jones

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many motor vehicles of British manufacture were exported to China in 1956; and what are the proposals of Her Majesty's Government for increasing the volume of export of British motor vehicles to China.

Mr. Walker-Smith

585 were exported from the United Kingdom. Her Majesty's Government would welcome an increase in the civilian trade in motor vehicles, but this depends essentially on the purchasing policy of the Chinese authorities.
