asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps have been taken to construct airfields at Dominica and St. Vincent.

Detailed schemes for the two airfields are now being considered in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, and if the schemes are satisfactory I hope that construction will begin shortly. Colonial development and welfare funds are available to meet the estimated cost of about £425,000.
