§ Mr. F. Noel-Bakerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether his attention has been drawn to a resolution of the Fifth National Conference of Parish Councillors that the local government commissions should include a reasonable number of members with first-hand experience and knowledge of rural life derived from actual residence in the countryside for a number of years; and whether he will ensure that the commissions do in fact contain persons who are qualified in the manner suggested in the resolution.
§ Mr. H. BrookeMy attention has been drawn to this resolution. It is, I think, too early to discuss the particular qualifications to be sought in individual members of the Commissions; but I certainly hope to find people whose experience is relevant to all aspects of the work.
