HC Deb 04 December 1957 vol 579 c51W
83. Mr. Kenyon

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, in view of the inconvenience caused to a large number of residents in the Clayton Green area of Chorley, because of the lack of shopping facilities, under what conditions he will withdraw his direction to the Chorley Rural District Council to refuse to agree to any plans for the erection of a shop in that area.

Mr. Nugent

In the interests of road safety our Divisional Road Engineer has asked the planning authority to withhold consent to the provision of a number of shops on trunk road A.6 at Clayton Green. Any aggrieved applicant has a right of appeal to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Housing and Local Government.
