asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will now make a statement on the expenditure of the Anglo-Egyptian Resettlement Board.

The scheme of exgratia loans announced by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs on 15th July has considerably increased the expenditure of the Board. The scheme is expected to cost between£4½million and£5 million in all, of which some£3½million—£4 million is expected to fall for payment by 31st March, 1958. The moneys already provided for the Board do not cover expenditure of this order and the necessary further Supplementary Estimate will be presented to the House in due course. In the meantime, payments by the Board are
