HC Deb 02 December 1957 vol 579 c19W
Mr. Patrick Maitland

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many fatal and non-fatal accidents, respectively, have occurred since the end of the war at Cander Bridge, Stonehouse, Lanarkshire; and whether he is satisfied with the road safety provisions there.

Mr. Maclay

Between 1st January, 1946, and 26th November, 1957, there have been one fatal accident and two collisions not involving injury at this bridge.

The bridge is on a classified road for which Lanarkshire County Council is highway authority. I understand that adequate advance warning signs are provided on the approaches to the bridge and that reflector posts have recently been erected.
