§ Mr. Patrick Maitlandasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many fatal and non-fatal accidents, respectively, have occurred since the end of the war at Cander Bridge, Stonehouse, Lanarkshire; and whether he is satisfied with the road safety provisions there.
§ Mr. MaclayBetween 1st January, 1946, and 26th November, 1957, there have been one fatal accident and two collisions not involving injury at this bridge.
The bridge is on a classified road for which Lanarkshire County Council is highway authority. I understand that adequate advance warning signs are provided on the approaches to the bridge and that reflector posts have recently been erected.
