asked the Minister of Works what has been the cost at the Palace of Westminster during the last twelve months of heating, lighting, water, cleaning, repairs and renewals, and general care and maintenance, respectively.

4.Cleaning (3) 34,500
5 Repairs and Renewals including stonework restoration 120,500
6. General Care and Maintenance including redecoration, maintenance and repair of furnishings and equipment, and maintenance and operation of lifts and plant 117,500

(1) It is not practicable to give the cost of fuel for heating alone.

(2) Estimated.

(3) Include the cleaning of gutters, drains and windows, etc., as well as internal cleaning; the Ministry does not clean the whole of the Palace of Westminster.
